Who We Are
-
& Mingle was created from a simple but powerful need: a space for Black women to connect, unwind, and experience life beyond the demands of work and routine.
Founded by Sarah Aurelie during a period of transition, & Mingle began as a response to what was missing—both personally and within the community. While volunteering and spending time in the DC area, she witnessed firsthand the gaps that existed: limited access to essential resources for women, and a lack of intentional spaces where Black women could gather, socialize, and simply enjoy life together.
What started as small gatherings and community-driven efforts has grown into something more.
-
Today, &Mingle is a curated social club and community platform designed for Black women who value connection, culture, and elevated experiences.
We create intentional spaces through:
Cultural outings and arts experiences
Thoughtfully designed social events
Curated travel and destination experiences
From attending the ballet and exploring art fairs to hosting seasonal gatherings and group trips, &mingle is about more than going out—it’s about experiencing life in a way that feels aligned, inspiring, and shared.
-
At its core, &mingle is about community.
We believe in creating environments where women can show up fully—whether that’s to connect, recharge, explore new interests, or build meaningful relationships. Beyond events, our community extends into ongoing conversations around lifestyle, culture, and what it means to live well.
-
While &Mingle centers connection and experience, our foundation is rooted in purpose.
Through quarterly initiatives and community partnerships, we support women and girls in tangible ways—from providing essential items such as menstrual products and toiletries to creating opportunities for younger girls to be exposed to new environments, experiences, and possibilities.
Our vision continues to expand through initiatives like &Mingle Mini, which focuses on creating intentional programming for middle and high school girls in partnership with local schools.
-
We envision a world where Black women have access to spaces that feel both inspiring and intentional—where community, culture, and lifestyle exist in harmony.
& Mingle is just the beginning.
